Days 53 to 55 – Paris

I have a cousin who studied abroad. He used to tell me horror stories about how overseas study was hard and how he sometimes cried himself to sleep at night. I don’t know what on earth he was thinking. I myself am having the time of my life. I think the men in my family are just, in general, wusses.

So once again, I went up to Paris. My one-week break, you see. And may I declare my deep and profound love for this wonderful city. Of course, the company helped. Sin and Shu (who skipped school to shop in Paris) were as always and there was also myself to talk to when I was bored.

Anyway the first day was another mad eating session. First-rate lunch, excellent tea and an absolutely sinful dinner. You have no idea how much I love food. Dawn-ie says you shouldn’t think and look at food too much. It apparently makes you fat cause of some chemical secretion thing, but I don’t care. It is at times when I reflect on food that I am most acutely aware of how much a feeling and passionate person I am.

[From left to right – Lunch at Café Fusion, a Chocolate & Zucchini recommended restaurant: Delightful fried samosas with sweet potato in them, my veau with roasted eschalots (delicious, moist and tender. I do love my meat), Shu’s casserole, forgot the name of my dessert; Tea at the Rose Bakery (another recommended restaurant): Juice and my sticky toffee pudding which was heaven; Dinner at Chez Omar’s, a David Lebovitz and Amateur Gourmet recommended restaurant: killer fries and a wicked steak-with-cream-sauce; Berthillon ice cream]

I think I have wonderful friends. Most of you will eventually be getting me the book vouchers I have been harassing you all for my birthday and Sin got me a ticket to this:

14,000 square metres of chocolate and chocolate exhibitions. A thoughtful and perfect present straight after my heart.

Bought these. The joy!

Anyway, some of my favourite photos from the trip:

Oh and because one has to admire a good side profile:
