| ![]() || Friday, January 19, 2007 || Friends."There is nothing in the world I wouldn't do for [my friends], and there is nothing [they] wouldn't do for me ... We spend our lives doing nothing for each other." - Bing Crosby Friends. Love them or hate them you can't do without them. You can't pick your family, so do a good job picking friends. I don't. My friends are generally Bad Influences. First there's that "Pig Friend Dog Comrade" trio I hang out with. All we do together is pig out, play and be generally decadant. Then there is the Scandalous bunch I flock with in school. One tries to seduce the teacher, another, random old men on the street and the last one, random old mAn on campus. Then of course there's the one in Paris who leads me into spending sprees and general over-eating while old and young men, to wink, leer or cat-call. And of course there's the other who just turn turned 22 who has been trying to lead me into the trenchant life of clubbing and recently sent me a SHORT skirt. And then there is this one, who has been, to the peril of my studying plan, leading me to youtube. Bad Influences I tell you. Bad Influences. Anyhow, found this: And no, not for Jay Chou. Fei Yu Qing. I don't care if your parents probably listened to him. Whatever it is this man can sing. Perfect pitching, a, what, 5 hundred octave voice, good diction, melliflous sonoronity, beautiful voice quality and the gift of singing out emotion. I swear I've fallen in love with him a million times just listening. Oh by the way, I have been suddenly been seized with a desire to listen to Hokkien songs. Don't ask. Someone please copy them and send along. Or surprise me with a CD. Oh and throw in some New Year tunes too, please. Let's spend our lives doing nothing for each other. |
